How It Works

Regenerative braking converts kinetic energy back into electrical energy when you slow down, recharging the battery. In city driving with frequent stops, regen can recover 10-25% of the energy used. One-pedal driving (maximum regen) maximizes energy recovery by using the electric motor as a generator whenever you lift off the accelerator. In hilly terrain, regen captures energy on downhill stretches. Highway driving benefits less because there are fewer braking events. Regen also extends brake pad life significantly — many EV owners report going 100,000+ miles without needing brake pad replacement. The energy recovery is not 100% efficient (typically 60-70% of the braking energy is recaptured), but the savings add up over time.
